FromSoftware, the studio behind the critically-acclaimed action RPG "Dark Souls," has some major plans for the much-awaited Gamescom 2018 event, which will run from August 21 to August 25 in Cologne, Germany. The world-famous studio is about to bring a playable demo of its newly introduced action RPG to the huge gaming event.

As mentioned earlier by GameRant, the Japanese gaming giant will bring a playable demo of "Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice," the studio's latest action role-playing game. The company made a huge announcement on the game’s official Twitter account.

Sekiro was first introduced last year during the famed The Game Awards. At that time, FromSoftware has only released a vague teaser trailer to the world, before it made an official announcement in E3.

A close look at Sekiro
For a starter, "Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice" is an upcoming action role-playing game played from a third-person perspective. The game was developed by the Japanese gaming giant FromSoftware and published by Activision. The game was already being planned for release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next year.

Inspired by the Tenchu’s series of stealth action games, Sekiro also features some stealth elements, which allows players to launch a sneak attack against enemies undetected. Players can also use various tools to deal with combat and exploration.

When first introduced in the gaming world, Sekiro has quickly gained buzz and attention from the gaming world, mostly from the fans of the popular action RPG "Dark Souls." In fact, the new game has been compared to FromSoftware’s Dark Souls series. Despite the big comparison between the two games, Sekiro doesn’t feature any role-playing elements, such as character creation and equipment upgrades. The new game also didn’t have any multiplayer elements.

"Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice" is just one of the two upcoming big games that will focus more on the feudal Japan setting. The other one is Nioh, which was developed by Japanese developer Koei Tecmo.

"Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice" will be officially launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on early next year.
